Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Release Date 2023

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Release Date

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is a five-passenger off-roader that’s one of the few in its class to deliver luxury, technology, and capability. It’s also one of the few SUVs that can be called truly serious off-roaders, and for 2023 it becomes even more capable with a new plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Unlike most hybrids, which have their electric motors tucked away and only used for low-speed driving or braking, the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk’s motor is integrated into its transmission and powers the vehicle at all times. This allows for a more efficient system, improved highway fuel economy, and a smoother power delivery. It also allows the Trailhawk to maintain its full four-wheel drive system and two-speed transfer case, allowing it to handle any terrain with ease.

This combination of off-road capability and everyday utility makes the Trailhawk a popular option with SUV buyers. And though it may not look as refined as the rest of the Grand Cherokee lineup, it’s still a good-looking car with an attractive profile and high-tech interior features. Jeep knows that the Trailhawk isn’t for everyone, so they’ve made it available with a number of different trim levels and engine options. But the biggest change for 2023 is that the Trailhawk will be exclusively available with the 4xe plug-in hybrid driveline.

That means you’ll no longer be able to spec the car with the long-running 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 or 5.7-liter Hemi V-8. Instead, you’ll have to spend more money on the Trailhawk 4xe if you want to get it with some of the same off-road ability that made it so popular in the first place.

The Trailhawk 4xe also gets a few other upgrades that make it stand out from the rest of the Grand Cherokee range. For starters, the suspension is modified with a new Quadra-Lift air suspension and disconnecting sway bar. It also gets a Quadra-Trac II four-wheel drive system with an electronic limited-slip rear differential. And finally, it has a 2.72:1 low-range gear ratio that helps it scale rock formations and crawl up steep grades with relative ease.

But the biggest reason to buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is that it’s Jeep’s most off-road-ready model. It’s Trail Rated in all five key areas of off-road capability: traction, ground clearance, maneuverability, articulation, and water fording. It can do all of this thanks to its advanced X-Trac 4×4 system, Jeep-tested Quadra-Drive II with a rear electronic limited-slip differential, and suspension that’s designed to get the most out of every tire.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Release Date is set for later this year.
